Production

Vampire the Masquerade: Swansong is an AA "narrative-driven RPG", based on a role-playing game license of the same name. Swansong draws inspiration from this medium's mechanics by placing the player's choices at the center of the game. The player's decisions shape Swansong's story, and the skills system, used in dialogue, was designed both to further enhance the organic and evolving nature of interactions with the world and to convey the unpredictability of dice rolls in tabletops games.

My role

WRITER

I was in charge of Emem’s narrative content. In VtM: Swansong, I:

  • participated in designing Emem’s arc

  • designed her quests in collaboration with quest designers

  • wrote all of her content (dialogues, barks, thoughts, events, cinematics, in-game documents…)

  • created secondary characters involved in her quests

  • wrote the codex and characters biographies in collaboration with other writers

  • collaborated with the creative director and various departments (writing, cinematic, design, artists, animation…)

  • managed and integrated the game's localization

Writing samples

Excerpt: Hilda MacAndrews and Emem Louis

A decisive dialogue between Emem Louis (MC) and Hilda MacAndrews (NPC). This excerpt highlights my ability to handle a large amount of information and branches within a single dialogue.

Excerpt: Kurt Densch and Emem Louis

A dialogue fight between Emem Louis (MC) and Kurt Densch (NPC). This excerpt is a good illustration of my ability to integrate gameplay mechanics specific to dialogues despite significant technical constraints.
